Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Is an expired contract binding?
I am currently working as an associate dentist. I signed a one year renewable contract in June of 2004. We never renewed the contract but I am still compensated as stated in the contract. The contract binds me to a no compete covenant that is to last 18 months and move me 8 miles away for that period. My question is whether or not that contract is still binding (specifically for the no-compete clause) considering I am entering the 13th month post expiration of the original contract? Or would I just have to wait another5 months?
Thanks

Re: Is an expired contract binding?
That's a 'maybe' since contracts can be ratified and extended by the actions of the parties.
