Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Where to file a small claims suit
I am a contractor for a company that I need to file a claim on a company that is refusing to pay what they owe me. They are based in New Jersey and I work as a contractor in Dallas (Dallas county) I live in Denton county. Where do I go to file the claim? Dallas county, Denton county or where they are in New Jersey? Thank you.

I don't think you want to go to court in NJ. Over there, they think Texans talk funny. You can file it Dallas Co. if that is where the debt was created and the work done. Don't be surprised if they throw a platoon of lawyers at you. Good Luck.
