forgery of documents
if a car dealership applied for a lost title on a car you had not owned for more than 5 years and they forged your signatures to this document and had it notarized by one of their employees what legal recourse could the victim take? criminal presecution? lawsuit?

Forgery is a very serious crime. If the notary attested to the signature knowing that the signature was a forgery, both criminal and civil liabilities may apply.
Who is the victim? You stated that you have not owned the car for 5 years. Why was the signature forged?
