Formation of LLC
Can an LLC purchase an existing business, and keep the name, tax number, etc., of the business it is purchasing?

Are you buying the stock or units of an existing business or just the assets? If the sale includes use of the name, then you can use the name. If the sale doesn't include units/stock of the business, then you cannot use the EIN/TIN of the prior business.
