Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
I want to do freelance engineering CAD design work through my own efforts or a site like Upwork or such, but I also want to be a writer (novels, plays, and such). Can I put both of these into a single business for tax purposes? Would it be better as an LLC or Sole Proprietorship? Does it make a difference if my wife is involved? I live in Texas.

That's a great question but you can't really get a thorough answer by email. Yes you can operate all of your businesses under your own name; whether or not that's a good idea depends on so many factors and this isn't the place to go through them all.
Good luck.
