Any attorney will say it depends on your contract with the storage company. It also depends on how the theft occurred. If it was due to the negligence of the storage company, it may have liability. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.

Based on what you have written, you should reveiw the terms of your agreement and see who is responsible for loss based on theft or negligence. You may want to consult with a local law firm to assist you with this matter. Additionally, the storage place may have an insurance policy which might cover this type of loss.
