Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
General Partnership
I have a business: my girlfriend was helping me set up my business---she included her name on the DBA and on the tax certificate. Does this make her a partner in my business, as a General Partnership? She signed the contracts for my jobs. And now she wants half of all the profits. We never signed a contract saying we were in business together.

Re: General Partnership
Did you guys sign anything? Also, did you know she was putting her name on stuff? At any rate, you should get the terms of your business relationship reduced to a writing--ASAP.
