If you give advanced notice that you are going to miss a day of work and your boss gives you permission can they fire you for not showing up on the day you were given permission to miss

Texas is an at-will employment state meaning that you can be fired for any reason other than illegal discrimination. If you are fired without proper cause, you may be able to collect unemployment.
