Horse boarding
We are boarding a horse in Texas, the owner has not paid in 8 months. How do sell the horse to get paid back?

You exercise what is known as a stableman's lien. That requires proper notice before you can seize and sell the horse.

If you don't have this issue addressed in you contract, then you need to consult with an attorney on this matter and have them draft a new contract for you to use in the future. This isn't something you want to try doing on your own.

Before you can sell the horse, you're going to have to send them notice required by law. When all the proper procedures are followed, you can sieze the horse and sell it. If the horse is worth it follow the law.
