Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
My husband had an appointment at a physical therapy place at 3:00pm in the afternoon. On the morning of the appointment he found out he had a conflict with his work so he called and cancelled at 8:00am the same day. They are now saying we have to pay them $65 for "Did not keep appointment" and if we dont pay they will send it to a collection agency who will tack on an additional $50. My husband did initial a statement that said he understood this when he started his sessions. He attended several sessions before this and it only cost $20 per session plus whatever they billed the insurance. Is this legal, do we have any recourse?

He should absolutely ignore their threats. He should stop communicating with these people; if they call, he should hang up the phone.
Nobody has the authority to "tack on an additional $50."
