Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
My husband and I recently separated, he had his own business that he gave to me. He left the country and I just received a notice from a law firm addressed to him that he owes $1100 to a company for a generator he purchased. I did not know of this purchase and I don't have a generator. Am I liable for this amount?

He "gave" you the business? How? Was there compliance with the Bulk Sales Act? What kind of business is it? Is it incorporated?
We need a lot more information.
