Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
identify theft ex-husband
my wife recently got a letter from a collections agency saying she owed a debt of however much that she has not any payments on. This was the first time she had heard of this She contacted the agency and found the debt was supposedly from a student loan in 2002. The thing is she did not go to or enroll in school in 2002 and the loan company is the company her ex-husband works for. She has asked the collections agency and the loan company if they have a document with her signature on it and neither of them can come up with it. My question is: can they make her pay back this money when they do not have her signature anywhere?
