Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Late Billing
I was billed for a service performed by a vendor over 2 years ago that they claim I never paid. Upon research, it turns out they never sent me a statement and they actually did not get paid.
Is there any statute of limitations on late billing or billing errors like this? Is it up to me to beg them to send me a statement? To me, if they don't have their act together enough to send out statements I shouldn't have to pay. 2 years seems like a long time to me to come back and ask for payment, and I would personally be too embarrased in my business to ask for payment 2 years later........

Re: Late Billing
The statute of limitations is four years. While I'd be embarassed to admit my billing fell through a crack, when you buy something the obligation is upon you to pay it, rather than the seller to bill it.
