Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Lawn mowing company refused to pay for damage.
I was parked at a mall sitting in my car. A man mowing the grasss at the mall ran the mower into my grill guard a couple of times, causing damage. I contacted the company and the manager said to gather estimates and to send him pictures. I sent the pictures and tried to contact him to gather more information about my next steps to take. I got no response so I gathered three estimates for my grill guard damage, each totaling about $530.00. A couple of days later, the manager from the lawn mowing company emailed me and this is what he said:
I have gone over your pictures with my crews in the area and managers. They let me know that there was no incident in the parking lot at the mall and the damage does not look like it was caused by our machines given various factors. I will not be able to pay for the damages that you claim were caused by a mower running into your car.
I feel that he basically called me a liar. What further actions should I take so this company will pay me for the damage? I am a hard worker that does not have a lot of extra money. Thank you!
