Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Legality of company policy item
My company just handed out a document that says ''Important Company Policy'' in its header. It states in the introductory line, ''I understand that I could be dismissed form company name if I violate any of the following company policies:''. There are 14 items on this policy ''addendum''. Item 11 is the one that has stirred everyone up around here. It reads as follows, ''11. Leaving assigned work stations, besides the assigned lunch & break times, without being excused by your supervisor, including restroom breaks.'' Do we have a reason to feel infringed upon or an invasion of privacy might occur with the enforcement of this 11th item's rule?

Re: Legality of company policy item
You may feel infringed upon, however item 11 is perfectly legal unless you have a collective bargaining agreement that says otherwise.
