do i need a lawyer to become LLC?i am sole proprietor of my company

You don't have to have one; you can get forms from the TX Sec. of State website. But it would be safest for you to consult with one so you don't cause any problems for yourself down the road. Remember, that limited liability is all that will be insulating you from claimants coming after you personally, and there are some very serious pitfalls to major transactions--e.g., selling your company.

You can get the forms from the Texas Secretary of State's website. But I would suggest you hire a lawyer because you can't become an LLC; the LLC is a fictional person with rights of its own.
