loan repayment
we loaned $26K to our cousin she didn't want her husband to know and because we did not get any paperwork she now says it was a gift
we wrote the checks to cash
what can we do?

You'll probably have to sue her. Do the checks at least say "loan" in the memo section? If not, it's your word against hers. You can sue for attorney's fees as well as the loan amount and interest.
