Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

Money For Starting A Business

I'm very interested in finding out about getting money to start a business. Lots of the grants that I have looked at are very hard to get into. I have done quite a bit of homework on the business that I am getting into and have started to write a business plan. I have contacted over twelve vendors and contacts and have gotten all approved. All I need now is capital. One problem I do have is that my credit is very bad. I can not get a loan because of the credit issue. Also, I am a housewife. (No Job)

I know all of this does'nt sound legal but I do not know who else to turn to. Do I have to have an attorney to help with this matter or is there someone else I can contact?

Thank You

Here at UTPA we have a small business entreprenuer program. You might check at other colleges or universities. Sometimes cities or counties have small business programs available. You might try to find a partner. Even though your bank might not loan you money, they might help you find a partner. That's not legal advice - that comes from a former life.

Contact the local office of the Small Business Administration. You don't need a lawyer at this point.
