Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

I have been named in a corporate lawsuit by a former vendor of services in which there was a major ongoing dispute. The company (c corp) was one I started 8 years ago but is now defunct due to the economy. I was named personally because they were able to pierce company veil due to our standing with the state of Texas. I need to respond to the lawsuit but cannot afford much at this time. How should I respond? He has millions or dollars and his case is based on falsehoods. Just need some advice. Should I just file personal bankrutpcy?

As a Franchise Attorney I can only say this. It's not possible to give you advice without reviewing the lawsuit filed against you. You need to file a responsive pleading in the time allowed by law and consider all your options. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
