Non Compete agreement in business sale
I bought a company from man ''A'' in January 2007. He bought it from man ''B'' in January 2006. Man ''B'' had signed a 5 year noncompete agreement when he sold it to man ''A''. Now man ''B'' has started a direct competing company. Is that leagl or does the noncompete agreement transfer if the company is sold again and again?

It all depends upon the language of the sales documents; both B to A, and A to you.

Mr. Bradie is correct, and you may be able to enforce the non-compete agreement. So have an attorney review them asap; the longer you wait the weaker your case becomes.
