Non competition clause in contract

Hi

I signed a contract with a company in Feb 2005. There is a general section with the contract clauses, the term of each contract is provided in an Assignment Supplement. I signed an Assignment supplement which got over in July 2005. I did not sign an assignment supplement for the term Aug 2005 through July 2006, and neither did I sign one for Aug 2006 through July 2007. I would like to move my contract to a different company. There is a non competition clause which goes like this: ''During the term of each Assignment Supplement hereunder, and for a period of at least one year following completion of each Assignment Supplement, Contractor shall not perform any services for any competitor substantially similar to those services provided hereunder''. My question is this: though I worked on another contract from Aug 2005 thru July 06, I did not sign a supplement. Will this satisfy the non competition clause, and now can I go and work for a different company?

Thanks

Re: Non competition clause in contract

There's really no way to tell. Your working could be considered as ratification of the supplement even though you didn't sign it. Is it worth the risk that they might bring suit against you?
