Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Payment of invoice to private contractor
Is it legal for a company to deduct a 2 or 3% of a invoice if a contractor requests payment of net 10 days or net 30 days? A company I know deducts 3 percent from the total invoice if a contractor requests net 10 days.

Re: Payment of invoice to private contractor
The terms of service are listed on your invoice copy. When the contractor deducts 3%, he is unilaterally changing the terms of your contract with him - unless this is allowed in some other contract with him. If you want to sue this contractor for all of the 3% deduction for the past 4 years, contact me via e-mail
Re: Payment of invoice to private contractor
It is only legal, in my opinion, if both parties agree in advance.
This is my opinion and does not constitute legal advise. A client/attorney relationship is not contemplated or formed by this response.
