Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
As a photographer I frequently have my subjects sign a "Model Release". I dislike paper files. Am I legally secure in scanning the release into ".pdf" (unchangeable, basically) format and maintaining the electronic file and destroying the original paper copy?

Don't destroy the original. Evidence calls for the original document in some instances and if you destroy it, you could be destroying something that could help you later on if there's ever a dispute.
