Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Private Information Posted Online
A company posted my private home address in an online directory. I have no idea how they got this address as it is private and unlisted and I have never given permission for it to be used like this. I have called them three times in the past month and they say that they have tried to remove it but they are having computer problems. I believe what they are saying is true but this should not be my problem. Do I have any legal rights here? Do I have any rights against the company or person who gave them my address?

Of course, we can't be sure where that company acquired the information, but sometimes it comes from sources to whom you have given the information. I don't know if that is true in your case or not; if so, then you don't have a claim because you voluntarily surrendered the information.
