How do I register a DBA for Free

How do I register my company name, which does not have my personal name in the company name? I want to register--name removed--s Powder Coating Company in the state of Texas. I have search and no one has this company name. What do I have to do to register this name and become a legal company? Every web page I go to want me to pay money to register this name. Should I not be able to do this for free?

You register your assumed name with the clerk of the county where you'll do business. They have a filing fee. Or you could try to register the name with the Office of Patent and Trademark. They charge fees as well. You can form a business entity and file it with the secretary of state for the state where you want your business to be located. They charge a fee as well.

Bottom line: what you want will cost you money.
