Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
remove a valid collection?
we have a debtor who wants us to remove the collection agency from his credit, so he can get a bank loan and pay us in full. He signed a updated amount promissory note, but wants us to sign something stating that we will remove this valid debt from his credit immediately so he can get a loan. Is this legal to remove a valid collection from a persons credit report so they may get a loan? And if we are not paid back, then do we lose our ability to mark his credit with this debt. Texas

Re: remove a valid collection?
Based on what you have written, it appears that the individual wants you to sign a written agreement that you will remove a valid debt off his credit report. There may be implications if you were to sign a written agreement stating that you are going to immediately remove the valid debt. You should consider contacting a local law firm to assist you with this legal issue.
