How do you know if request for a deposition is legit?
I have been contacted to provide a deposition for a claim filed against the company I purchased a car. I was threatened with a sepeona but was not provided with any information about the case. Am I required to comply? Am I required to take off from work to comply and risk loosing my job?

Re: How do you know if request for a deposition is legit?
If you are one of the parties in the lawsuit you are required to attend a deposition if requested to do so. If attendance places your job at risk, ask for a witness subpoena to show your boss. He can't fire you for obeying a court order to attend the deposition.
