Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Ignored by rest of LLC members
When I got divorced I was awarded half of the 40% share of an LLC. My ex cleaned out our accounts, including most of my retirement, and he's blocking my access to any information about this company. The other two members refuse to respond to me. I know he is still claiming all 40% as his. Does that constitute business fraud?
If so, since the other members know that I actually own that 20%, would they be considered guilty by association? If I send my ex's CPA a copy of the divorce decree, would she be legally obligated to not do tax work which reflects him as owning my part of the LLC?
Would the IRS even care? Since my ex and his girlfriend took all the money, I cannot afford an attorney, so I am looking for other leverage to get my share of the profits. Thanks.
