Because you have stated that you are aware of phony vendor's, you can be subpoenaed by private parties in a civil action or by a grand jury in a criminal investigation, to testify about your knowledge of the illegal operations, wherein you will be required to give names, addresses, locations, etc.

If your friend is caught, he or she could be looking at time in the penitentiary, either state or federal, a very hefty fine (probably $250,000 on up) and confiscation of all the goods. State, federal, and the investigators for the real makers, are all on the lookout for counterfeit goods. The sellers are usually caught through a sting operation, so the only way to avoid being caught is not to sell the counterfeits.
