Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

if i am suing a business, like a mechanic, how much and what can i sue them for? I want to sue them because they "lost" my vehicle and i have been without for several months, currently i am suing for the value of the car, money put into the car before putting it into the mechanics hand, and gas and expense of getting around due to not having the car. I would like to know what additional fees can i add to the amount?

You sue for your actual damages, that is, the money it has cost you because of not having your vehicle. And if their action was deliberate, you can sue for punitive damages also.
