Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

Timeclock errors

We use a timeclock system for keeping track of our employees' time. Almost everyday, someone forgets to punch in/out or uses the wrong card or several other errors. What is the employer's obligation to correct these mistakes? I am relying on their honesty to tell me the correct time...but how do I know if they are rounding up or just best guessing?

Re: Timeclock errors

An employer decides how strict they want to be with time clocks. In theory, you could hold them to the punched time and any time a manager can confirm; that would teach them not to forget. Just make changes in policy slow enough to be fair; old habits die hard.
