Verbal Partnership Rights
Hi,
Last October a lady I met asked me to become her business partner in a kids website she had already started. No written agreement exists.

She stated that there was no money at that time, but I could partner with her and help her develop the website with the promise that we would franchise the business and make a lot of money.

I spent a lot of hours upgrading the website, researching and adding keywords, obtaining content for the website and uploading it with clipart to the website, etc.

I also purchased a 6 month subscription to a clipart site, and spent money on other things to help us enhance the website and get it ready to franchise.

Last week she emailed saying she didn't think I was pulling my share of the responsibility and that we should ''go our separate ways''.

What rights do I have?
Can I invoice her for hours spent?
Am I still considered a partner since she made a verbal agreement and I have some emails from her talking about money ''we'' were going to make in the future, etc.

You have a partnership agreement, but you will have to sue for an accounting in order to assert your interest.
