Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Video Poker and Slot Machine Usage for Entertainment Only
I would like to open a business that will have coin operated video poker and slot machines that redeem winnings in the form of giftcertificates. There seem to be loopholes in the TX laws that might allow this, and I know that there is a Bill on hold that would make this officially legalized.
There are many gamerooms like this aroud the Houston area, and there are rumors of some being shut down.
I would like some advise on whether we should continue our business plan and market analysis, or if this kind of establishment is really illegal in TX.

I cannot ethically give legal advice without having a client relationship. If you wish to retain me to research this matter fully and provide you with a legal opinion, I would need a contract and a retainer. contact me by e-mail if you want my assistance on this matter. Otherwise, the Texas statutes are available on line for your research.
