Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
im 16. a mother. living at home with my mother. i know i have rights to my child but dont i have my own rights now that i'm considered an adult for haveing a child?

You have the exclusive right to make all decisions about your child; your parents don't have those rights.
The term "emancipation" is a colloquialism. Chapter 31 of the Texas Family Code describes the process (and the requirements) for �Removal of Disability of Minority.� A 16-year-old can file a petition through a district court and ask that certain legal restrictions be removed so that she can act as an adult. She must be living outside her parents' home.
If you get married (for which you need your parents' permission), that also "emancipates" you.
Having a child does not "emancipate" you.
