Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas

background check for medical school

A spot on the application instructs you to explain if you were ever placed on deffered adjudication for a misdemeanor or felony. I was charged once with a misdemeanor drug possession charge but after 18 month deferment and community services i received a letter from the state saying all charges against me were dismissed. I feel as though I have a clean record but must I explain all this on my medical school application even if the charges were completely dismissed?

You should tell the truth. Not only is it the right thing to do, but a false statement now may come back at any time and destroy your career.
