Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas

Blackmail for Love

My ex-boyfriend is obsessed with getting me back. So much in fact, that he is threatening to ruin my life unless I be his girlfriend again. He has threatened to put intimate photos of me on the Internet and copy them to my parents, friends, and neighbors. I have a few voice mails as evidence, and I have a taped conversation with him threatening me as well. I don't know if the tape is even admissable since he is in California (2-party consent needed),and I am in Texas (one-party consent). I tried to call the police to file a report, and they said it was a civil matter, and not criminal, which means there is nothing they can do to help. I know if he does opt to post, I can sue, but is there anything preemptive I can do before this blows out of proportion and my reputation is ruined?

A restraining order may be your best bet.
