Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas

Breaking my Lease

I have 3 months left on a lease for an Apartment in Euless, TX. Many apartments in the complex, including mine, are infested with bed bugs and the apartment management refuses to address the problem. This problem is affecting our sleep and the bites are leaving scars on me and my daughter, and we can't use any of our furniture, even in the living and dining rooms, without getting bitten. Can we legally break the lease? What action can we take?

Re: Breaking my Lease

Read your lease..it is probably a Tex Apartment Association lease..sections 26 or so covers repairs..give written notice..If other people have the same problem..get together and you may have a case against the owners..and keep a copy of what yu send..also..send a copy to TAA..and call the press....but the courts are a difficult course..too long, the builders/owners wrote the law and elect the state representatives..congress..and yu probably have a Republican who helped write the law..but if you need legal help..be prepared to get others to help foot the billl..
