Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Civil Rights of a minor being questioned by a deputy
My 14 year old took a container of beer to school last week and was suspended from school for 1 day and then sent to alternative to school for the next 30 days. Today the principal had an office come in and question him about the incident without either parent being present. Did she violate his civil rights by allowing him to be questioned at school by a law enforcement officer without his parents being present?
