Can I be compensated for being locked up in jail for day, for being falsely accused of something I didnt do?

Yes. There is a civil cause of action called "malicious false imprisonment" and one called "malicious false prosecution." You'll need to get a good lawyer, and he probably won't take it on a contingent fee basis.
