Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Can my employer mandate me to watch a motivational speaker? I have seen this woman speak before and do not care for her undertones. Just today I found out the company she works for is affiliated Christian.

In other words, your employer wants to indoctrinate you on company time. He's paying you to listen to an evangelist.
If my employer would pay ME to sit on my rear and listen to a speaker - Muslim, Christian, Zoroastrian - I would do it. I'd treat it as an opportunity to be exposed to a different culture (since I was 2 years old, I've been able to say "No"). And at the end of the week, I'd cash my paycheck and go to the Genghis Grill for dinner.
The alternative would be to file some sort of religious discrimination complaint with EEOC, and it's just not worth it.
Now if your employer calls you in and demands that you either (a) speak in tongues or (b) get fired, that's a different story.
