records.I asked to see the records and the JP sent me this (you can review records in this office At________
at a cost of $40 dollars plus 0.10 per page to copy

The charge is improper if it is an open and pending case and you are requesting to review the official court file. If the case is closed or on microfiche, then the court may assess a reasonable charge for retrieving closed records. The photocopying charge is permitted if you are requesting copies.
