Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas

Harassment via email, phone, newspapers, regular mail, and following

For about 6 months now I have been harassed by this lady. She first published false information about me in the local newspaper, she calls me numerous times daily and hangs up on me - my cell phone, my work phone, my home phone, she sends me anonymous emails, she follows me places, she attempted to get my medical records, she mailed out a stack of papers she typed about me to my friends and family full of faulty information, etc... This list goes on and on. She has confessed to a mutual friend. I am to the point to where I am starting to be fearful of her next move. Please advise on what steps should be taken to get some sort of legal action done. And if it involves the authorities please advise the direction of the department I should contact. Thank you in advance.

Re: Harassment via email, phone, newspapers, regular mail, and following

First go to the Police and make a report of your circumstances. The Police should know the law or ordinance being violated particularly law on the harassing phone calls, stalking, etc. and they should assist in developing the case against the violator. Then you should consult an attorney regarding getting an injunction because when an injunction is violated the person could be jailed and this should stop the harasssment.
