Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Would this be in my best interest to legally persue?
A lady called a newspaper posing as my mother giving her information and phone number and had some very incriminating information printed about my mother, boyfriend and me. She has also been harassing us via phone and email. Because of this ladies actions we are constantly getting harassed at work, in our home town, etc...
Should I persue this legally and If so under what? And should I persue the paper and the lady?
Thanks!

Untrue statements which cause economic/emotional harm may be the subject of civil litigation for libel [written] or slander [spoken]. Truth is always a defense to a libel/slander action.
Unlawful interference with one's life may be prosecuted under 'stalking' laws. This action must be taken by the prosecutor, it is not a private right.
