Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Would this make it to the courts?
Hello. I know this is not the brightest question, but if somebody claims that another person offended them by telling them something like ''shut up, stupid'' (which did not even occur- and the acusers have no witnesses whatsoever), is that enough to start a lawsuit or is it something minor that will probably not even make it to the courts? many times the jobs that people have don't allow them to be out or don't show up to work, so court cases can sometimes be complicated. Thank you in advance for your time.

Re: Would this make it to the courts?
I cannot think of any thing outside of intentional infliction of emotional distress that this "Shut up Stupid" could be brought in court for.
Its to trivial for anyone to file a lawsuit based on an insult.
Also know that no question you ask is a stupid question.
Sincerely,
Erick Platten
