Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Do I meet the criteria for disability due to recent blindness?
Please help.
I am employed as a Medical Technologist in a small hospital laboratory. During the past 2 years I suffered from a Central Retinal Vein Occlusion which has rendered me blind legally in my left eye. I am left handed and find most tasks at work very difficult. Am still under the care of my eye specialists, I deal with microscopes, blood drawing and minute finger dexterity and am expected by my supervisor to continue at the same pace as before this is ver hard for me. Because of this handicap I have to take antidepressants to keep my mental being in a better shape to function at work, and I almost forgot to state that I am a single 51 year old female and live alone except for a faithful basset hound. I would appreciate any suggestions that I could receive. I have not attempted to start any form of searches for disability sources, you are my first.
I appreciate any and all suggestions you may give me.

Re: Do I meet the criteria for disability due to recent blindness?
Your question is outside the areas in which we operate, unfortunately.
As a starting point we recommend you seek out a lawyer who practices social security law, as you may be eligible for SSI. Hopefully you will receive further valuable leads from that contact.
