Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas

Can an officer take you to jail for speaking to him?

Can a police officer take you to jail for stating that he is harassing your friend? My friend was driving me home, had not had any alcohol, and the police officer pulled him over for a licence plate light. But then he told him to get out of the car, said he was drunk and issued a sobriety check. I poked my head out of the vehicle and said, ''Sir, you are harassing him.'' The officer told me to put my head back in the vehicle or he would take me to jail. He then came over asked me a lot of questions, and said he was ''cutting me some slack'' because he was going to let my friend (who passed the sobriety test with flying colors) take me home. He kept taunting me.. ''You DO realize I can take you jail don't you??'' I want to know if this was a legal action on his part.

Probably....police take a lot of abuse from real criminals and then to have comments from a "friend" who coould have led to getting the driver arrested in retaliation..learn to respect others..try becoming a law enforcement person..an easy way to understand what they experience...
