Proof of Filing

What is acceptable proof of an attorney filing a petition in a timely manner. We had an attorney said he filed the document before the Clerk's date stamp on the petition. He sent us a conformation fax sheet but it only shows the date, how many pages, and the number. Is this enought proof. It seems to me he could have faxed blank sheets. It doesn't make any sence why the DC office would stamp a document more than a week later.

Why don't you check it out with the office from whence your counsel had filed it.In that way you can verify whether the petition has been filed seasonably.
