My roommate is now on federal probation. His probation officer wants to search my room and belongings. Can he do so without a warrant? I have nothing to hide just want to know my legal rights.

Probationers ususally can be searched without a search warrant as a condition of their probation. To be sure, you have to see the written conditions of probation as to what can and can't be done by way of searches. But, withouit knowing more, I would say your shared apartment can be searched without a warrant. If you have a separate room, tell them they can't search your room and see what happens. Best thing of course is to not keep anything in your room or apartment that would be illegal to have.
