Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
School Rights
My school takes up cell phones for 7 days if they see them, you don't even have to be using the cell phone. Is there any way to legally get them in trouble for this? It is stated in the school hand book but you are still billed by the cell phone company for 7 days that you can't use your phone. So essentially its like paying the school $20-$30 and not being able to use your phone for a week just because they saw it? Is there any way around this? Thanks for your help

Re: School Rights
If unlawful at school they could even take away permanently. You have no right to recover for time during those seven days unless, perhaps, they were used without permission.
