Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Texas
Can they ask me to do this?
I just started working for a major software company and in the training class we were told today that since we deal with customers that could say rude things we have to get in a group and come up with comments that we might hear based on sexual, race, nationality, and other things of that nature. We were told that no one out side the class would ever know of these things but I can not bring myself to do these things since I feel that it is morally wrong and when I approached the class trainer about it we were all told that it was part of the job and if it was not done we would not have a job. Can they fire me over this? I should also note that we were not told we would have to do anything like this before we took the job or when we were told to sign the paperwork for the job.
